Civil and structural engineering for water and wastewater infrastructure
RECOR delivers water and wastewater engineering for utilities, councils, and major industrial clients, from network reticulation to treatment plant upgrades.
Engineering for water and wastewater infrastructure
Water infrastructure has to work for decades. RECOR provides civil and structural engineering for water and wastewater assets across South East Queensland, supporting utilities, councils, and major industrial clients with design, certification, and construction-phase services. Our project director Mark Poynter has led water infrastructure programs for SEQ Water including the Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline, Somerset Dam upgrade business case, and East bank electrical upgrades.
We work directly with Urban Utilities, Unitywater, Logan City Council, Ipswich City Council, and other authorities to deliver sewer and water reticulation, trunk infrastructure, treatment plant upgrades, and the certification and inspection services that operational assets require.

Where we add value in water and wastewater
Water and wastewater assets get scrutinised at every stage. Authority audits, compliance assessments, mandatory inspections, certification reviews. Our work for Lawnton Lakes navigated Unitywater's full approval process across 313 lots, from design documentation through construction certification to as-constructed records.
- Sewer and water reticulation design
Network design for residential subdivisions and masterplanned communities, including water main systems, sewerage networks, pump stations and rising mains. Recent work includes 313-lot sewer and water reticulation at Lawnton Lakes coordinated through Unitywater's audit and approval process.

- Treatment plant and process infrastructure
Civil and structural engineering for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including clarifier process improvements, water treatment inlet realignment, SCADA upgrades, and bulk water storage tank construction. We have delivered for SEQ Water and Burke Shire Council across treatment plant lifecycle stages.

- Stormwater and water sensitive design
Stormwater management for flood-prone sites, detention and bioretention basin design, MUSIC modelling for water quality compliance, and bioswale design integrated with site infrastructure. Aligned with Water by Design and council planning scheme requirements.

- Asset assessment and renewal
Structural assessment of existing water and wastewater assets, including load capacity reviews for roof-mounted solar PV across Unitywater's operational facilities. Work delivered in partnership with Downer New Energy covers structural framing assessment, strengthening recommendations, and compliance documentation.

Our water and wastewater capabilities
Engineering and project services spanning planning, design, construction, and asset renewal across the water lifecycle.
Built for long-term serviceability
Water and wastewater assets get scrutinised at every stage. Authority audits, compliance assessments, mandatory inspections, certification reviews. Our work for Lawnton Lakes navigated Unitywater's full approval process across 313 lots, from design documentation through construction certification to as-constructed records.
That discipline carries across everything we deliver in this sector. Whether it is reticulation design for a new estate, capacity assessment for rooftop solar at a treatment plant, or business case development for a regional dam upgrade, we work to the standards the asset owners require and stay engaged until the asset is operational.
Water and wastewater questions, answered
What types of water and wastewater projects does RECOR deliver?
Sewer and water reticulation for residential subdivisions, trunk infrastructure agreements, treatment plant upgrades, bulk water storage, pump stations and rising mains, structural assessments of existing assets, and stormwater management with water sensitive urban design. Project values range from $1M to $25M+ delivered scope.
Which water authorities do you regularly work with?
Unitywater, Urban Utilities, SEQ Water, Burke Shire Council, Ipswich City Council, Logan City Council, and Gympie Regional Council. Our project director has direct experience managing programs through state and local government water frameworks including strategic assessment, options assessment, and business case phases.
Can you deliver Unitywater and Urban Utilities approvals?
Yes. We prepare design documentation to meet Unitywater and Urban Utilities technical requirements, coordinate the approval process for major water and sewer connections, and provide construction-phase certification including mandatory inspections, compliance assessments, and as-constructed documentation.
Do you work on water treatment plant infrastructure?
Yes. Our team has delivered clarifier process improvements, water treatment inlet realignment, SCADA upgrades, and bulk water storage tank construction. We also support strategic assessment and business case phases for major water infrastructure programs using established government frameworks.
Can you assess existing water assets for new loads such as solar?
Yes. We deliver structural assessment reports for water and wastewater facilities considering additional loads such as roof-mounted solar PV. Our work for Unitywater in partnership with Downer New Energy covers framing review, dead, live and wind loading assessment, and strengthening recommendations across operational sites.
