Civil Engineering

Civil engineering that turns sites into infrastructure

Roads, drainage, earthworks, and site infrastructure across Australia. We design civil works that hold up to construction reality, agency review, and decades of service.

Civil works designed for the way projects actually get built, from concept to construction issue.
Road and Pavement Design
Geometric design, pavement structure, and intersection layouts that meet Austroads and state authority requirements.
Drainage and Stormwater
Pit and pipe design, water-sensitive design, and detention systems that handle real catchment behaviour.
Earthworks and Site Civil
Cut and fill design, retaining structures, sediment control, and bulk earthworks documentation.

Civil documentation
you can build from

Civil drawings get used. Contractors price from them, surveyors set out from them, and authorities approve from them. We produce documentation that survives all three. Clear, coordinated, and ready for the field.

Civil engineering
with a delivery mindset

We design civil works the way builders actually build them. Buildable details, realistic sequences, and documentation contractors don't need to re-interpret on site.

Buildable from day one

Detailing that respects contractor methodology, plant access, and real-world sequencing.

Authority-aligned approach

Early engagement with councils, road authorities, and approvals bodies so civil designs land cleanly.

Documentation that holds up

Clean drawing sets, coordinated levels, accurate quantities, and traceable revisions.

Project metrics

From concept through to construction issue

Civil design moves through feasibility, detailed design, authority approvals, tender documentation, and construction support. We stay involved across each stage so the intent set early carries through to what gets built.

A clear civil delivery process

Four stages we run consistently across every civil engineering engagement.

Concept and feasibility

Define site constraints, design criteria, and authority requirements before locking the approach.

Detailed design and coordination

Develop civil drawings alongside structural, services, and architectural disciplines.

Authority approvals and tender support

Manage submissions, respond to authority comments, and prepare construction tender packages.

Construction support and as-built

Respond to RFIs, review contractor shop drawings, and close out with as-constructed documentation.

Got questions? Let's clear them up

What does RECOR's civil engineering service cover?

Road and pavement design, drainage and stormwater, earthworks, retaining structures, site grading, and civil documentation across feasibility, design, and construction support.

Do you work to Australian standards and authority requirements?

Yes. Our designs meet Austroads, AS/NZS standards, and state road authority requirements (TfNSW, DTMR, VicRoads, MainRoads WA, DIT). We also coordinate with councils and water authorities for development approvals.

Can you support a civil design that another consultant started?

Often, yes. We can review existing documentation, identify gaps, and continue the work. We're transparent about what we change and why.

How early should we engage RECOR on a civil project?

Earlier helps. Feasibility-stage involvement lets us shape site planning around realistic civil constraints rather than retro-fitting drainage and earthworks to a fixed layout.

Do you provide construction phase support?

Yes. We respond to RFIs, review contractor shop drawings, and produce as-constructed documentation. Most of our projects keep us engaged through to completion.
