Gladstone Central State School Multi-Purpose Hall

The Gladstone Central State School Multi-Purpose Hall is a new single-court covered facility designed to support sport, assembly, and broader community use within the school grounds. RECOR provided civil and structural engineering services across the project, including the design of new sealed and line-marked entrance and parking, the entry forecourt, and landscaping integrated with the new building.

School projects come with two demands that don't always sit together: durable engineering that holds up across decades of student use, and a finish that the school community is proud of. The brief was treated as both, with the engineering supporting the architectural ambition rather than constraining it.

Scope covered civil engineering, structural engineering, and structural design of all building elements, with a detailed 3D Revit model developed at LOD 200 to support coordination across the design team and the build. Working at LOD 200 gave the contractor a queryable reference from day one rather than a set of static drawings.

RECOR also managed the Local Government approvals pathway as part of the engagement. State school projects sit at the intersection of Department of Education standards and local council requirements, and holding both interfaces under one engineering team kept the approval programme on track through delivery.
